—THE GREAT WAY
Metamorphosis, Sage of the Ages, enlightened Hunter on true friendship.
The sage motioned to Hunter. “When was the last time you overheard a conversation where everyone asked about the other person and then listened to what they had to say?”
“Hmmm, I’m not sure.”
“Was it with your friends?”
“No. When I get with my friends at school, it’s hard to get a word in edgewise. The more I think about some of my school friends, the more I realize they act like the Extractors.”
“Perhaps you can be a positive influence on them with your new-found wisdom.”
“I’m not sure if I can change them.”
“Do not concern yourself with them. First and foremost, change yourself. Become emotionally healthy. Then, if you believe your friends cannot be cured of the low self-esteem virus, you must make a decision.”
“Do you mean, get rid of them?”
“If the group you choose to be with does not match your thoughts and desires, leave the group. Should you decide to stay with your dysfunctional friends, the power of group consciousness, all their powerful thoughts combined, may cause you to follow their behavior instead of your own. Their thoughts may dominate your thoughts.”
“That’s easier said than done,” Hunter said, grimacing.
“What is that?” Morph asked.
“Leaving my friends.”
“If you fear ridicule and harassment and loneliness, you shall never break away and free yourself. Remember, my son, time heals. Those feelings shall pass. As you grow emotionally, other humans that share the same thoughts as you shall be drawn to you like a magnet.
“You shall form a new group consciousness filled with positive energy. You shall attract new friends. Maybe, a new family.”
“Like attracts like,” Hunter said, grinning.
“My, you are listening.” Metamorphosis nodded in approval.
The Earthling smiled at Eve.
She nodded back at Hunter.
